It was during my herbal apprenticeship that I developed a special relationship with Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum). Tulsi is considered an adaptogenic plant with an intuitive sense of creating wellness based on what the body needs at that moment. It is a revered plant in many cultures and within the herbal community.

Its spicy, fresh, and sweet aroma comes from the component of eugenol (phenol) as we learned earlier this month from The Oil Within the Plant. This component shows up at 25% with nearly equal amounts of β-elemene and β-caryophyllene, making this an excellent oil to address the respiratory, muscular, and immune systems.
